Miracle Stories

In Memory of Ian MacRae – A Patient’s Story
(June 29, 1944-January 4, 2008)

For those of us from NSHSC who had the privilege to work with Ian and Angie MacRae in the Fall of 2007, it is their generous spirit that we will never forget.  Angie and Ian‘s story demonstrates the importance of AAC devices that assist individuals who have lost their ability to communicate.

In January of 2006, at age 62, Ian MacRae was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a terminal progressive illness that attacks the nerve cells responsible for controlling voluntary muscles.
